Some cultures view punctuality as an essential part of their society while others take a more relaxed or casual view of punctuality. Write about the importance of punctuality.

To be or not to be punctual is a habit. We often fail to appreciate the influence of habits in our life. The habitual practice of being late is often due to a lack of concern of being on time. In my opinion, being punctual is an important virtue for all of us.

Punctuality is essential for people from  all walks of life. For students, it is a great blessing.If you are punctual, you leave a good impression on the teachers and classmates who may offer tremendous help in teamwork. In hospitals, punctuality can make all the difference between life and death. On the contrary, an unpunctual person generally causes inconvenience to others.A person who is always late shows selfishness and thoughtlessness, and he is not a person that most people want for a friend. Furthermore, just as Thomas C. Haliburton said, "Punctuality is the soul of business." Lateness is a sign of poor time management skills. When you are late for appointments, meetings or work, you show a lack of respect for other people's time as well as your own. If you want to be a successful businessman, being punctual is particularly important. Failing to arrive on time causes much inconvenience to the business and also to the rest of the staff. The failure to keep up an engagement punctually may mean a setback for the business.

To sum ups, punctuality being so important in life, it is necessary for everybody to cultivate this habit froth the very beginning.(252 words)

1.Calling on a friend five minutes later than the appointed time may cause him some unexpected problems.
如果晚于约定的时间5分钟去看望朋友可能给他带来意想不到的麻烦。

2.Since punctuality is a good habit and a virtue,we should make every effort to cultivate this good habit so that we may have a strong sense of punctuality and do whatever we are supposed to do on time.
既然守时是一个好习惯，也是一种美德，我们应该尽一切努力培养这个好习惯，这样我们就可能有较强的时间观念并且做任何事情都能按时完成。

3.Punctuality is an important constituent of good character.A person who is always on time for his appointments shows real consideration for others.
守时是好品质的重要组成部分。一个总是准时赴约的人是真正能为别人着想的人。
